Writer’s Guild Strike - “Speechless” Campaign

November 23, 2007

A lot has been written lately on the Writers Guild of America strike. John Rogers sums the details up pretty well. I’m sad to see that things have come to this point. I for one will miss all the great TV they write for if the strike continues much longer. They’re doing the right thing though and I fully support them.

They’re launching a public service announcement campaign called “Speechless

Here is Episode #1: Holly Hunter

For more information on the strike see United Hollywood.

Troy

May 16, 2004

Ben, Scott and I went to see Troy today. It was better than I expected, but had plenty of cheesy moments. There were a lot of events that didn’t line up too well with Homer’s Troy, but it is Hollywood afterall. Coming in at 2 hours and 42 minutes, Troy is a bit long, but I would recommend checking it out.

Firefly Movie!

September 4, 2003

TVGuide is reporting this story from Hollywood Reporter saying that Joss Whedon has signed a deal to make a Firefly movie. That kicks ass!

American Wedding

August 1, 2003

I saw American Wedding (American Pie 3) today and it lived up to all the hype [I gave it]. It was better than the second movie with hilarious scenes lined up back to back. Such a funny movie. Go see it now.

Still Alive

June 23, 2003

Wow, It has been a long time since I posted anything. I saw The Ring last Wednesday and was quite unimpressed. It was hard to control my laughter during certain scenes. That said, I did like the cinematography in the movie. Anyone have any suggestions of a really scary movie? I saw The Hulk on Friday. It was a lot better than I had expected. The CG was really well done and the story was great. Jennifer Connelly was looking good as always. She seemed to be playing pretty much the same character as she played in another great movie, A Beautiful Mind. The Italian Job was also good and I recommend seeing it. I still haven’t seen Finding Nemo, which I really want to see.

X2

May 2, 2003

I saw it and it was good.

The Real Cancun

April 29, 2003

This movie was hysterical. If you, like the reset of the country, haven’t seen this movie yet, I highly urge you to go see it right now. This movie had everything from the wonder twins, Nichole and Roxanne, in a wet t-shirt contest to Alan, the shy kid, learning to party. Donner should take some notes from this guy. I can’t wait for this to come out on DVD. There must be some great extra footage.

Confidence

April 26, 2003

I went to see Confidence today with John. It is a movie about some con guys trying to pull off a big scam. The movie has lots of twists and turns and reminds me of other recent movies such as Ocean’s Eleven. It was fun and well paced, so if you aren’t sick of this genre of movies, I would recommend checking it out.

Yay for weekends

April 4, 2003

I’m beat like a rented mule from the conference I’ve been at the last two days. I’m just not made to get up at 8AM. Very much looking foward to the weekend. Some new movies out I want to see including A Man Apart, Head of State, What a Girl Wants (with Dave), and Spirited Away (which isn’t really new, but I haven’t seen it).

Yippie!

January 30, 2003

There is going to be a new Cheech and Chong movie! Sweet!
