Van 1 - Jeep 0

July 20, 2007

This morning I was heading in to the office with beltzner when out of no where a woman parked on the street tried to make a U-turn through my car… Mike and I were wearing our seatbelts and are OK. They took the woman driving the van away in an ambulance (she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt) for what the police said were precautionary reasons. The police ruled that it was the other drivers fault and fortunately she had insurance so now I get to deal with her insurance.

All in all, 2 police cars, 2 firetrucks, 1 ambulance, 2 sad cars.

Next car?

August 12, 2006

After an intern offsite on Friday I dropped by Silicon Valley Auto Group to see what they had. Boy was I pleased when I saw this. The Buggati Veyron. This car is huge! Boatlike even. But it is faster than every other car on the planet.

Someone buy me one please? I’ll give you my Elise and Jeep.

Why Ads?

January 5, 2006

Shaver suggested I sell pixels of my car similar to The Million Dollar Homepage in hopes of paying it off. It is a pretty solid idea, but I need to build some infrastructure for it first. In the mean time I put some small ads on my site. Any money I get from the ads will go towards paying off my car. A good cause if you ask me.

Learning to Drive

May 23, 2004

Ben and I went over to MINI of Mountain View to check out the Mini Cooper S. They don’t have enough people working there so we couldn’t get a test drive, but they told us to call and set up an appointment. After that, Ben offered to teach me to drive a manual transmission car with his G35. Despite growing up in Georgia, I never had to drive a stick shift car, so there was a lot of learning involved. I still have some issues starting in to first gear without bunny hopping, but I was able to shift up and down without too much trouble. I still need a lot more practice, but I suspect my next car will be a manual.
