I arrived back in hot and suny California last night. I liked the cool Vancouver temperature better. I’m in the process of uploading all 550mb of photos I took while on my trip. I will try to post a blog saying what I did and where I went as soon as I get some free time.

I’m back
May 28, 2003Vancouver, Day 2
May 23, 2003It stopped raining. Today we spent a while at Stanley Park and visited Deep Cove. Both were fantastic. I took lots and lots of pictures, like this one, but they haven’t all been posted yet. It is likely that I will do that at some point after the trip. We ended up having Chinese food for dinner, where I had the spiciest food I’ve ever tasted. My tounge was numb for quite some time after eating it. It is supposed to rain again tomorrow, so we’ll probably go see some indoor things.
Vacation
May 22, 2003I’m vacationing in the lovely city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Unfortunately, it is raining. It really needs to stop. Lots of neat places to visit while I’m here. I’ll be reporting back when I’m more awake.
Wow
May 15, 2003LWN picked up the MozillaZine interview of Christopher Blizzard on the Mozilla Firebird™ naming issue. The first response was from Jonathan Walther, the self proclaimed Firebird name dispute mediator. Despite him being completely useless as a mediator, his posts show that he is really just an arrogant ass clown. I normally wouldn’t call someone names, but I am simply amazed at what a joke this guy is. Jonathan needs to stop using his Debian email address and posting as a "Debian Developer". He’s giving them a bad name.
This "msutherland" guy is just as bad, if not worse, than Jonathan. I’m afraid if his nose gets any further up Jonathan’s ass his head might get stuck.
WB Fall Schedule
May 13, 2003Am I the only one who is excited about the new WB show "Fearless" staring Rachael Leigh Cook? It will be airing on Tuesday nights after Gilmore Girls.
I don’t know what to think about "Tarzan and Jane", but I’m sure I will give it a shot.
I am a bit disapointed that "Young MacGyver", staring Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls), didn’t make the fall schedule. Hopefully they will pick it up eventually.
The WB’s press release can be found here.
Database software giving Mozilla a bad name
May 10, 2003Perhaps the Firebird Rational Database folks should devote a little more of their front page to warning their users about serious exploits in both shipping versions of their software rather than blabbering on about naming issues.
It’s a good thing that most people aren’t so stupid as to confuse the database software with the Mozilla Firebird™ web browser. If, as the database folks claim, there was mass confusion between the two, then Mozilla Firebird™ might be getting some bad press right now.
According to the security report, a hole in the database apparently will "allow the attacker to, amongst other things, manipulate and/or destroy the databases, and also add the option to trojan the firebird binaries. This will in effect allow for compromising of other users/root accounts."
Maybe someone can use this exploit to rename their product.
Twenty Two
May 8, 2003It is that time of year again. No, not Christmas. My Birthday. The last 2 hours feel pretty much the same as the 2 hours before. I’m not too sure that this is a very useful birthday. 21 may have been the last big birthday for quite some time. Oh well. Oddly enough, it appears other things have happened on my birthday in the past.
Hide your sheep

Alias
May 5, 2003I’m quite disapointed by the crappy ending on the season finale. Couldn’t they come up with something more original than that?
